IGT Diamond Queen Slot

Update, June 2012: The Diamond Queen slot is now available to play online at MoneyGaming.

I was playing at a casino in England yesterday (Rendezvous in Brighton) and came across the Diamond Queen slot machine, an IGT game I had never previously seen, yet alone played. Not sure if this is a brand new game or, more likely, one that has just made our shores and been around in the US for a while. But I didn’t see it in Vegas in November at Encore or Green Valley Ranch.

Diamond Queen is being released online in May 2012 – watch this space for more info!

The free spins bonus is quite original and unusually for an IGT slot, has expanding wilds. You trigger the feature on the Diamond Queen slot like you do with Kitty Glitter or the Cats slot – the bonus scatter symbol visible on reels 2, 3 and 4.

When you get the free spins, you get awarded 3 which initially you think is a bit crap. But there are two things that really make it very decent. Firstly, every time the Bonus symbol appears you get an extra spin and secondly you get Diamond Queen wild reels! On the first spin, reel 2 is wild. On the second spin, reels 2 and 3 are wild and on the 3rd spin, reels 2,3 and 4 are all wild. If you get an extra spin awarded, the wild reels stay as they are for that spin.

WMS Colossal Slots Now Online!

A little while ago I blogged about the Colossal slots I discovered on my 2012 trip to Las Vegas, most notably the Spartacus slot (upd: online as of July 2013) and raved on about how much I loved them. At that point, none of these 10-reel games had made the transition to online but now… that’s changed!

In fact, it’s a brand new game themed around the popular glam rock band KISS (remember them? Gene Simmonds – lots of make-up, stupidly long tongue…oh, and some loud music) and it’s just been launched along with Spartacus at WMS’s own Jackpot Party casino  (read a full review here) although right now, only residents of the UK (+ the Isle Of Man), Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Iceland and Belgium can register to play them. That should change this year though with regulatory efforts moving fast in may other territiories. (more…)

My Current Favourite Online Slots

Things move on, slots get better, old ones start to look old…you know the drill. So I thought I’d just do a quick run-down of my current “top slots”. If you don’t recognise any of these, and like me you appreciate the free spins bonus rounds, then do check these out.

1) Fortune Falls at 3Dice. A totally unique slot – at first I wasn’t sure, but now it’s my first stop when I have some funds available. Oh and the casino takes US players too by the way. This slot just keeps you going and when you get 4 or 5 scatters, which actually isn’t that uncommon (see the picture for proof!), you can get a very decent payday. Love it!

2) Cleopatra. That good old IGT favourite which I play at Virgin casino. You can’t beat Cleo (more…)

Cleopatra Slot For US Players?

By now, most US slot players who are familiar with the IGT slot Cleopatra will know that a) it is available online but b) US players are blocked from playing it for real money! But not everyone will know that there is a copycat slot called “Cleopatra’s Gold” available at Club USA casino, Slots Oasis, iNetBet, Rushmore, Cherry Red and Bodog that, while not identical, is very similar.

Like IGT’s Cleopatra, Cleo’s Gold has 20 paylines and a bonus round which is triggered by 3 or more scatter symbols in view which awards 15 free spins all wins trebled. It also has (more…)

Orbis Slots – Worst Slots Ever?

Now I’ve played a lot of slots, trust me. Everyone from Playtech, RTG and IGT, through Microgaming, OddsOn (Vegas Tech), Cryptologic and Chartwell. And up until now Chartwell slots were by far and away the most appalling slots I ever played to the extent where I wouldn’t have a Chartwell casino anywhere near my PC.

But guess what? I just found a contender for their (un)coveted crown and unbelievably, these slots seem to be everywhere! Correction – “this slot” would be more appropriate because from what I can see Orbis basically produce one slot and give it some different graphics (which generally aren’t too bad at all). Which probably means it’s cheap to produce, thus cheap to licence, ah…which probably explains why so many online casinos have it. Hey ho. Anyway it’s true, you should never judge a book by it’s cover… (more…)

Isis Slot Goes Flash!

Microgaming’s popular but very high variance “Isis” slot has now been transformed into a Flash slot and added to the Flash casino offerings at Intertops, Lucky Nugget, River Belle, All Jackpots and, for UK and European players, the excellent 32Red.

It’s a little slower than the version in the download casino available at the places stated above, but it’s exactly the same game in all other respects. For those players who aren’t familiar with it, be aware that being high variance it is prone to very long bad streaks, but every now and again you can hit mega-big! Once I hit the 5 scatters for 600x (more…)

Cashapillar Slot – Stacked Wilds ‘n’ Free Spins!

Ok…just noticed a Microgaming slot nearly sneak past my radar the other day…Cashapillar. Naff name and another slot with a bit of a cartoon feel to it – can’t say I’m normally a fan of that type of graphic, but it’s slightly better than most to look at. Also, it boasts 100 paylines Now that normally shouts “low variance” at me, and I’m a high-variance type of guy. Give me a risk anyday.

But I took a look and this slot is not only quite interesting for the points mentioned, but actually quite playable too. In fact at the moment (OK, it won’t last!) Cashapillar is up there as one of my first ports of call. Look…it’ll never be Thunderstruck, but it’s making a nice distraction. It’s a “free spins” slot (more…)

Hitman Slot

Popular Microgaming slot, “Hitman” has been released to the Flash version of several online casinos including Jackpot City and Royal Vegas. Many players will know this slot – it’s proved very popular since it’s arrival in mid-2007 and has arguably the best graphics, sounds and gameplay of any online slot, yet alone those on the Microgaming platform.

For those that have yet to try Hitman, it’s a really cool themed slot game with expanding wilds and three different bonus features, including free spins (18 a 2x). While the graphics on the Flash version are a little slower, and not quite as rich as the version of Hitman in the download version, the gameplay is identical and the general look and feel is the same. Hitman’s appeal, graphics and sounds aside, is in the gameplay. As you’d expect, one of these is a free spins bonus (more…)

Elvis Multistrike Slots Finally Arrive!

October 2007: After what seems like an eternity, Wagerworks (now IGT) have finally announced the imminent release of the long-antipated “real” version of their Elvis multi-strike slots at Virgin Casino (online, Flash, no download!).

That’s the good news…the bad news is reserved for Americans in that Wagerworks casinos do not allow US players under the current anti-gambling regime in place in the USA. However, for the rest of the world, October 2007 will finally see the introduction of this superb slot, the first in what will hopefully become a full suite of multi-strike games on offer at Wagerworks online casinos.

For those of you who have played the “fun version” at LED Gaming, or who ply your trade on the slots floor at various Las Vegas casinos (more…)
