October 2007: After what seems like an eternity, Wagerworks (now IGT) have finally announced the imminent release of the long-antipated “real” version of their Elvis multi-strike slots at Virgin Casino (online, Flash, no download!).
That’s the good news…the bad news is reserved for Americans in that Wagerworks casinos do not allow US players under the current anti-gambling regime in place in the USA. However, for the rest of the world, October 2007 will finally see the introduction of this superb slot, the first in what will hopefully become a full suite of multi-strike games on offer at Wagerworks online casinos.
For those of you who have played the “fun version” at LED Gaming, or who ply your trade on the slots floor at various Las Vegas casinos, you’ll (partially) know what to expect, except that the online fun version does not include the interactive bonus features that have been built into the new Elvis multi-strike.
For those of you that haven’t come across the Multi-strike pnenomonen yet, you’ll find that these games have three levels: you firstly spin in “normal” mode…if you have a winning combination, you progress to the second level where all wins pay 2x the recognised payout. If you win on this level, then you proceed to the third and final level where all wins are paid at 4x. It’s a very entertaining concept that has been coined by IGT and used extensively in their land based video poker games with great success. I’ve played these myself at the Wynn in Vegas and once played, there’s no going back to “ordinary” video poker.
The Elvis multi-strike slot follows the same pattern and is very addictive (you have been warned!). It is accompanied by Elvis’s music as you play, trimmed down into repetitive sequences, and the two bonus rounds add to the excitement of the Elvis slot. The “Fan-o-meter” bonus is triggered by three “Fan-o-meter” symbols appearing adjacent on the first 3 reel sof a payline. You get to “pick a TV” and see a clip of Elvis, and as the name suggests, the louder the fans cheer, the more you win. The “Photo Memories” bonus spins a wheel (shaped like a record – duh-nuh!) and awards a prize – you keep spinning to win multiple awards which add up to the total bonus.
If you haven’t played Elvis (and live outside the “USSA”) then look out for it at Virgin or Blue Square in early October 2007.
